With a high sensitivity, probing HI column density down to 1018-19 cm-2, the MeerKAT Fornax survey (MFS) will be the first to observe and characterise the diffuse HI cold gas in the circumgalactic medium of the Fornax cluster galaxies. MFS will help to develop our understanding about the physics of gas removal from the galaxies within the Fornax high density environment. Using the high-resolution TNG50 cosmological simulation we have created mock MeerKAT Fornax HI observations and studied the HI distribution in these halos. In this talk, I will show that the Fornax like TNG50 halos at z ~ 0, have an extended distribution of HI gas extending to the intra-cluster regions of the halo. Specifically, I will discuss and predict the expected HI covering fraction to be observed by the MFS. Our study implies that similar to massive halos at the intermediate redshift, the massive halos at halos at z~0 have detectable amount of HI covering.
