Abstract

We have entered an era of intelligence available to all.  Every sector, including research, will need to transform to take advantage of this change. India can leverage this to create new leadership in technology and the application of intelligence.
 

Senapathy “Kris” Gopalakrishnan is a co-founder of Infosys and served as its Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director from 2007 to 2011. He is currently the Chairman of Axilor Ventures, which supports early-stage start-ups and entrepreneurship in India. A strong advocate for scientific research and innovation, he has supported major initiatives in brain science, ageing, computing and higher education through the Pratiksha Trust. Mr. Gopalakrishnan holds Master’s degrees in physics and computer science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. He is a Fellow of Indian National Academy of Engineers (INAE) and an Honorary Fellow of Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) of India. In recognition of his contributions to industry and society, the Government of India awarded him the Padma Bhushan in 2011.
