Description

The habitability of a planet is influenced by its parent star and the characteristics of its surrounding stellar neighbourhood. Major threats to habitability from the stellar neighborhood stem from cataclysmic events, like powerful stellar explosions, and orbital disruptions caused by nearby flybys. In this study, we utilize Gaia DR3 data to examine the stellar environment within 10 pc of 84 known habitable zone stars closest to the Sun and assess the risks posed by their neighbouring environment.
