Description

Mysteries of dark energy in light of recent “DESI” results: Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI) is the largest full-sky spectroscopic survey for dark energy studies. Its first Data Release was done in April this year, containing spectroscopic redshift for millions of galaxies and quasars. This provided the most accurate measurement of the Baryonic Acoustic Oscillations (BAO), a standard ruler of the Universe.  Join us to understand how they achieved this precision and what it implies for our knowledge of Dark Energy!

Magnetic image of black holes: In March this year, the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) Collaboration released the first polarized light image of Sagittarius A*, the supermassive black hole at the heart of our Milky Way. This pioneering image reveals the magnetic field structures near the black hole’s event horizon. Join us to understand the science behind this image and what it tells us about these cosmic giants!
